Week 4 Learn Tarot with Psychic Sisters – Bringing It All Together and Your First Tarot Readings by Jayne Wallace

Welcome to the final week of Learn Tarot with Psychic Sisters.

WEEK 4 – Becoming a Tarot Reader

Bringing It All Together

Theme: The cards are only the beginning. The true magic lies in your intuition.

Welcome to Week Four

Congratulations, you’ve reached the final week of Learn Tarot with Psychic Sisters.

Over the past three weeks you’ve explored the history of tarot, connected with your Oceanic Tarot deck, followed the journey of the Major Arcana and discovered how the Minor Arcana reflects everyday life.

Most importantly, you’ve begun trusting your intuition.

Now it’s time to bring everything together.

This week you’ll learn how to prepare for a reading, ask empowering questions, interpret cards as one complete story and begin reading with confidence, for yourself and, if you choose, for others.

Remember… There is no such thing as a perfect tarot reader. The best readers aren’t the ones who know every meaning by heart. They’re the ones who listen. Trust. Observe. And allow the cards to speak.

Preparing for a Reading

Every reading begins long before the first card is turned. Creating a calm and peaceful space allows you to quiet your mind and become fully present. Your ritual doesn’t need to be complicated. You might like to:

  • Light a candle.
  • Burn your favourite Psychic Sisters incense.
  • Hold a Clear Quartz or Selenite crystal.
  • Take three slow, deep breaths.
  • Shuffle your cards slowly.
  • Set a positive intention.

Your reading space should feel comfortable, peaceful and free from distractions. Remember… The ritual isn’t for the cards. It’s for you.

Asking Better Questions

The quality of your reading often begins with the quality of your question. Instead of asking questions that invite only a yes or no answer, ask questions that encourage guidance and understanding.

Instead of: Will I get the job?
Try asking: What can I do to give myself the best opportunity to succeed?

Instead of: Will this relationship last?
Ask: What energy surrounds this relationship, and how can I nurture it?

Instead of: Should I move house?
Ask: What do I need to understand before making this decision?

Open questions create richer, more meaningful readings.

Reading the Story

One of the biggest breakthroughs every tarot reader experiences is realising that tarot isn’t about reading one card at a time. It’s about reading the story. Before looking at individual meanings, pause and observe the spread. Ask yourself:

  • Which card catches my attention first?
  • Which colours repeat?
  • Are there several cards from the same suit?
  • Do the figures appear to be looking towards each other?
  • Is there a balance between Major and Minor Arcana?
  • What overall feeling does this spread give me?

Tarot is like reading a book. Each card is a sentence. Together they create the story.

Trust Your First Impression

Before reaching for your guidebook… pause. What was your very first thought? What emotion did you feel? Which symbol stood out? What caught your eye? More often than not, your first impression is your intuition speaking. Learn to trust it.

Reading Reversed Cards

Some readers use reversed cards and some choose not to. Both approaches are equally valid. If you decide to read reversals, they can suggest:

  • Blocked energy
  • Delays
  • Internal reflection
  • Lessons yet to be learned
  • A need for balance

If you’re just beginning, don’t feel pressured to use reversals immediately. Many experienced readers work only with upright cards. The most important thing is to find a style that feels natural to you.

Reading for Yourself

Reading for yourself can be incredibly rewarding. However, because we’re emotionally involved in our own situations, it’s sometimes easy to overthink the message. If this happens: take a break, return later, and look at the spread with fresh eyes. Remember… Tarot offers guidance, not judgement.

Reading for Others

Reading for friends and family is one of the best ways to build confidence. Always remember to:

  • Listen carefully.
  • Create a safe space.
  • Be honest and compassionate.
  • Never create fear.
  • Encourage free will.
  • Respect confidentiality.
  • Leave people feeling empowered.

A tarot reading should never take someone’s power away. Its purpose is to help them discover it.

When the Cards Don’t Make Sense

Every tarot reader experiences this. Sometimes the message isn’t immediately clear. That’s perfectly normal. When this happens: pause, take another breath, look again, notice something new, ask another question, and return to the reading later if necessary. Some readings unfold over hours. Others take weeks. Trust the process.

Developing Your Own Reading Style

As you continue your tarot journey, you’ll naturally develop your own unique approach. You may become drawn to:

  • Colour symbolism
  • Numerology
  • Astrology
  • Crystal healing
  • Meditation
  • Storytelling
  • Psychic impressions
  • Spirit guides

There is no right or wrong way. The best tarot readers don’t copy others. They develop their own voice.

Jayne’s Final Tip

“When people ask me the secret to reading tarot, my answer is always the same, practice and trust. Every reading, whether clear or confusing, teaches you something. Even after more than thirty years, I still discover new layers of meaning in the cards. Tarot is a lifelong journey, and that’s what makes it so magical.”
