Learn to Read Auras with Psychic Sisters A Free 4-Week On Line Course

A Free 4-Week Online Course with Jayne Wallace

Discover the colours, energy and intuition behind aura reading.

Created by Jayne Wallace, founder of Psychic Sisters, bestselling author and professional psychic with over 30 years of experience, this free four-week course will introduce you to the fascinating world of aura reading.

An aura is often described in spiritual traditions as the subtle energy field surrounding a person. Learning to work intuitively with auras can encourage you to pay closer attention to body language, feelings, colours, atmosphere and your own intuitive responses.

Throughout the next four weeks, I’ll show you simple techniques that I use to help you explore energy, understand traditional aura colour meanings and develop confidence in your intuition.

You don't need any previous experience. The most important thing is to remain open, practise regularly and trust what you feel before you start questioning it.

WEEK 1

WHAT IS AN AURA?

Welcome to Week One

Welcome to your first week of **Learn to Read Auras with Psychic Sisters**.

This week is all about understanding **energy** and beginning to recognise how your own intuition communicates with you.

Before we start looking at aura colours in more detail, I want you to become comfortable with simply noticing energy.

Some people describe seeing colours around another person. Others may experience a feeling, a temperature change, a tingling sensation, a word appearing in their mind or simply a strong sense of knowing.

There is no right or wrong way to experience an aura.

The most important thing during this course is to stay relaxed, remain open and begin trusting your "first impression".

 WHAT IS AN AURA?

In spiritual and intuitive traditions, an aura is described as a subtle energetic field surrounding every living being.

Many people believe that this energy can reflect different aspects of how we are feeling emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

You may already have experienced someone's energy without ever thinking of it as an aura.

Have you ever:

  • Walked into a room and immediately felt the atmosphere?
  • Met somebody and instantly felt comfortable around them?
  • Felt drained after spending time with a particular person?
  • Known that a friend was upset before they told you?
  • Felt somebody looking at you before you turned around?
  • Walked into a peaceful place and immediately felt calmer?
  • Felt drawn towards somebody without knowing why?

These experiences can be a useful starting point when learning to work intuitively with energy.

Aura reading is about becoming more aware of those subtle impressions.

EVERYONE EXPERIENCES ENERGY DIFFERENTLY

One of the first things I want you to understand is that you do not have to physically **see** an aura to learn aura reading.

You may experience energy in different ways.

You May See It

You might notice:

  • colours
  • flashes of light
  • a glow around someone
  • movement
  • shadows
  • brightness around the body

You May Feel It

You might experience:

  • warmth
  • coldness
  • tingling
  • pressure
  • heaviness
  • lightness
  • butterflies
  • a magnetic feeling

You May Sense It Emotionally

You might suddenly feel:

  • calm
  • excited
  • nervous
  • happy
  • emotional
  • peaceful

You May Simply Know

Sometimes you will receive an immediate impression without knowing where it came from.

You may suddenly think:

Blue.

Or:

This person feels very creative.

Or:

They need some quiet time.

This is why developing your intuition is such an important part of aura reading.

THE SEVEN LAYERS OF THE AURA

Different spiritual traditions describe the aura in different ways. One common teaching describes "seven energetic layers", each associated with a different aspect of ourselves.

You do not need to memorise all seven this week. I simply want you to understand that an aura reading can be about much more than seeing one colour.

1. The Etheric Layer

This is traditionally described as the layer closest to the physical body.

It is associated with:

  • grounding
  • physical awareness
  • vitality
  • connection to the body

2. The Emotional Layer

Associated with:

  • feelings
  • moods
  • emotional reactions
  • relationships with ourselves

This layer may be described as changing depending on how someone is feeling.

3. The Mental Layer

Traditionally connected with:

  • thoughts
  • beliefs
  • concentration
  • ideas
  • decision-making

4. The Astral or Heart Layer

Associated with:

  • love
  • relationships
  • compassion
  • connection
  • emotional openness

5. The Expression Layer

Connected with:

  • communication
  • truth
  • self-expression
  • creativity

6. The Intuitive Layer

Associated with:

  • intuition
  • inner guidance
  • spiritual awareness
  • sensitivity

7. The Higher or Soul Layer

Traditionally associated with:

  • purpose
  • spiritual connection
  • wisdom
  • higher consciousness

Don't worry about trying to identify every layer.

For now, focus on developing your awareness of the energy closest to you.

YOUR FIRST INTRODUCTION TO AURA COLOURS

Next week we will explore aura colours in much more detail.

For now, I want you to become familiar with some of the traditional meanings associated with the main colours.

Remember:

Aura colours are not strict labels.

One colour can have several meanings, and your own intuitive impression is always important.

RED

Red is traditionally associated with:

  • energy
  • passion
  • action
  • courage
  • strength
  • grounding
  • determination

Someone who reminds you of red may feel energetic, driven, passionate or strong.

Red can also sometimes make you think about frustration, impatience or feeling overwhelmed.

Ask yourself:

Does this red feel strong and confident, or intense and restless?

ORANGE

Orange is often connected with:

  • creativity
  • confidence
  • enthusiasm
  • sociability
  • enjoyment
  • motivation

Orange energy can feel warm, lively and expressive.

It may appear around someone going through a creative or exciting period in their life.

YELLOW

Yellow is traditionally associated with:

  • happiness
  • optimism
  • intelligence
  • confidence
  • curiosity
  • personal power

Yellow can feel bright, uplifting and energetic.

It may remind you of someone who is mentally active, positive or full of ideas.

GREEN

Green is often connected with:

  • healing
  • balance
  • compassion
  • growth
  • kindness
  • nature
  • emotional renewal

Green can feel peaceful and nurturing.

You may associate it with someone who naturally cares for others or is going through a period of personal growth.

BLUE

Blue is traditionally associated with:

  • calm
  • communication
  • truth
  • sensitivity
  • peace
  • emotional depth

Blue energy can feel gentle and reassuring.

It may also make you think about someone who communicates well or who needs to express something they have been holding back.

INDIGO

Indigo is often associated with:

  • intuition
  • perception
  • inner wisdom
  • deep thinking
  • sensitivity

You may notice indigo when someone feels particularly intuitive, observant or inward-looking.

VIOLET OR PURPLE

Purple is traditionally connected with:

  • spirituality
  • imagination
  • intuition
  • transformation
  • creativity
  • higher awareness

Purple can feel mysterious, spiritual or deeply creative.

PINK

Pink is often associated with:

  • love
  • kindness
  • nurturing
  • compassion
  • romance
  • gentleness

Pink energy can feel soft, caring and emotionally open.

WHITE

White is traditionally associated with:

  • peace
  • clarity
  • sensitivity
  • purity
  • spiritual awareness

People often describe white energy as light, peaceful or protective.

GOLD

Gold is often associated with:

  • wisdom
  • confidence
  • inspiration
  • success
  • spiritual
  • strength
  • purpose

Gold can feel warm, powerful and uplifting.

SILVER

Silver is traditionally connected with:

  • intuition
  • sensitivity
  • change
  • possibility
  • imagination

It can feel reflective, delicate and almost dreamlike.

IMPORTANT: DON'T JUST MEMORISE THE COLOURS

When you begin reading auras, don't immediately think:

Green means healing. Blue means calm. Red means passion.

Instead ask yourself:

What does this particular colour feel like to me?

For example, two people might both remind you of blue.

One blue might feel:

  • calm, peaceful and gentle.
  • Another blue might feel:
  • quiet, emotional and withdrawn.
  • The colour is only part of the reading.
  • Your intuitive reaction to the colour is just as important.

BRIGHT COLOURS AND MUTED COLOURS

You may also begin noticing whether the colour you sense feels bright or muted.

Bright Colours

Bright or clear colours may make you think of:

  • confidence
  • enthusiasm
  • energy
  • openness
  • positivity

Softer or Muted Colours

Muted colours may make you think of:

  • tiredness
  • reflection
  • uncertainty
  • emotional sensitivity
  • needing rest

Never assume that a darker or muted colour means something bad.

Energy and emotions naturally change.

PREPARING YOURSELF BEFORE READING AN AURA

Before practising, take a few moments to prepare yourself.

  • Step 1 - Ground Yourself
  • Sit or stand comfortably with both feet on the floor.
  • Take a slow breath in.
  • Then breathe out gently.
  • Imagine your feet connecting firmly with the ground beneath you.
  • You might imagine roots growing down from your feet into the earth.
  • Take three slow breaths.

Step 2 - Quiet Your Mind

Try to release thoughts about:

  • what you expect to happen
  • what you want to see
  • whether you're doing it correctly

Aura reading works best when you are relaxed rather than forcing an experience.

Step 3 – Protect Your Energy

  • If it feels helpful, imagine yourself surrounded by a bright white or golden light.
  • Visualise the light forming a peaceful protective space around you.
  • You can quietly say:
  • I am grounded, protected and open to positive guidance.

Step 4 - Set Your Intention

  • Before beginning, say:
  • I am open to receiving clear, positive and helpful impressions.
  • Then relax.

PRACTICAL EXERCISE 1

FEEL THE ENERGY BETWEEN YOUR HANDS

This is one of the simplest exercises for beginning to notice subtle sensations.

Step One

  • Rub your palms together for around "30 seconds"

Step Two

  • Slowly move your hands apart.
  • Keep them approximately 10–20 centimetres apart.

Step Three

  • Slowly bring them closer together again without allowing them to touch.
  • Repeat several times.
  • What Do You Notice?

Pay attention to:

* warmth
* coolness
* tingling
* pressure
* pulsing
* resistance
* a magnetic sensation
* a feeling similar to holding an invisible ball

Don't decide what you "should" feel.

Simply observe.

PRACTICAL EXERCISE 2

CREATE AN ENERGY BALL

Once you've completed the first exercise, try this.

Rub your hands together again.

Separate them slightly.

Imagine you are holding a small ball between your palms.

Slowly move your hands closer together and further apart.

Visualise the ball becoming larger.

Then smaller.

Does the space between your palms feel different?

Write down your experience.

PRACTICAL EXERCISE 3

YOUR FIRST COLOUR IMPRESSION

  • Close your eyes.
  • Take three slow breaths.
  • Think about yourself.
  • Without analysing it, ask:
  • If my energy were a colour today, what colour would it be?
  • Allow the first colour to enter your mind.
  • Write it down immediately.
  • Now ask yourself:
  • Why might I have chosen that colour?

Don't look at the colour meanings until after you've recorded your own impression.

This is important because I want you to develop "your own intuitive language" rather than simply repeating meanings you've memorised.

PRACTICAL EXERCISE 4

SENSING ANOTHER PERSON'S ENERGY

Ask a friend or family member to sit quietly opposite you.

Don't try to read their aura yet.

Simply notice how you feel when you sit with them.

Ask yourself:

* Does their energy feel warm or cool?
* Calm or lively?
* Heavy or light?
* Open or reserved?
* What colour immediately comes to mind?

Write everything down before discussing it with them.

JAYNE'S TIP

One of the biggest lessons I have learned from working intuitively is:

RUST THE FIRST IMPRESSION

You might receive the word Green immediately.

Then your mind may say:

"No, that can't be right. Maybe it's blue."

Write down Green

Your first impression often comes before your logical mind has had time to analyse everything.

The more you practise recognising that first feeling, image, colour or thought, the easier it becomes to understand how your own intuition works.

YOUR DAILY FIVE-MINUTE PRACTICE

For the next seven days, spend five minutes practising.

Day 1

Feel the energy between your hands.

Day 2

Create your energy ball.

Day 3

Choose your personal colour of the day.

Day 4

Sit quietly and notice your body's sensations.

Day 5

Think of somebody you know and write down the first colour that comes to mind.

Day 6

Practise grounding and protection.

Day 7

Repeat your favourite exercise and compare it with Day 1.
